How to Convert Your Rakhi Into a Pendant or Brooch
- After Raksha Bandhan, gently lift the motif away from the moli thread at the fitting point — no cutting or force needed.
- For a pendant: thread any thin silver or gold-tone chain through the loop or bail on the back of the motif.
- For a brooch: use the pin fitting on the reverse to attach it directly to a dupatta, saree pallu, or jacket lapel.
- Store the thread separately if you'd like to keep it as a memento — the motif and thread don't need to stay attached once the festival is over.
